Advice To Be Taken, Not Ignored.

What is the best advice you ever got Explain.

“People spend a lifetime searching for happiness; looking for peace. They chase idle dreams, addictions, religions, even other people, hoping to fill the emptiness that plagues them. The irony is the only place they ever needed to search was within.”

– Ramona L. Anderson

I came across this advice a few years back but never really understood it untill I read it a few times over. But first I’d like to focus on the whole point of advice. What is advice? A few words spoken from the wisest men to ever live? But what makes a man wise? To be wise is being able to observe, but not only to observe but to understand, to contemplate, to be able to look at something in a million different ways and come out with one single view that sums it all up. The wisest men come up with the best advice because they truly understand life. As it has always been said wisdom only comes with age, simply because it takes age to be able to understand it all.

Moving on, the reason this advice is the best advice I’ve gotten, so far, is it’s an eye-opener. You sit back and realise that maybe you weren’t supposed to be searching for all these things, happiness, peace, dreams, far and wide. That maybe all of these can be found if you searched within yourself. That maybe it was all in your head and all you had to do was simply open up your mind. At that point that’s when a person can ever feel complete. But I personally believe whether it’s physically searching for the emptiness to be filled or whether it’s mentally searching within, it would still take a lifetime to be found. That internal happiness, peace of mind, dreams that have become reality are all life’s biggest and most worthy treasure. To me searching within yourself is another way of saying that you’re searching for your soul. Searching for the other half of yourself that fills that horrible emptiness. In addition to all this what I like most about this advice or what makes it the best advice thus far, is that it’s like a key to life’s secrets. Use that key, open up doors, that other half of yourself could be on the other side.
